Route Guide
Getting from Bangkok Airport to Hua Hin
Private car, airport coach, train and taxi from Suvarnabhumi and Don Mueang, with prices and the basis for each.
Hua Hin is a long road trip from either Bangkok airport: the Suvarnabhumi (BKK) coach takes about 4 hours, and the Don Mueang (DMK) coach covers 216 km in about 3.5 hours. The cheapest seat from Suvarnabhumi was 361 THB on Roong Reuang. A private car with airport pickup started at THB 2,800 (about $86) per vehicle on Viator when we checked on 12 October 2026.
| Option | Best for | Time | Cost when checked | How to book |

Private car straight from the airport
If you are flying in and going straight to Hua Hin, book a transfer that picks up at the airport. The Ken Diamond private transfer from Bangkok airport or city to Hua Hin on Viator does that, and it is the one we recommend for airport arrivals. It is rated 4.85 from 26 reviews and is priced per vehicle. The options listed when we checked on 12 October 2026 ran from THB 2,800 (about $86) to THB 4,100, depending on the car: an eco sedan for 2 passengers, a Toyota Camry for 3 or a family SUV for 3. The listing estimates 3 to 4 hours on the road.
The price includes all fees and taxes and air conditioning. Hotels in Pranburi, south of Hua Hin, cost an extra 500 THB paid to the driver. The listing does not name an airport meeting point or a waiting allowance, so check both in your booking confirmation and send your flight number. Infants ride on an adult’s lap on this listing, which makes it a poor fit if you need a child seat. Our review of the Ken Diamond transfer covers the details.
If you stay in Bangkok first
The OTO Trip Hua Hin private transfer runs hotel to hotel, from a Bangkok hotel inside the city limit to your hotel in Hua Hin, and back the other way. It does not pick up at the airport. It suits you if you spend a night or more in Bangkok before heading south. When we checked on 12 October 2026, a car for two travelers cost $80.74 in either direction. The listing is rated 4.69 from 135 reviews.
The car is assigned by party size, with luggage limits: a sedan for 1 to 2 passengers with 2 bags, an SUV for 3 to 4 with 4 bags, a van for 5 to 7 with 7 bags. Fuel, parking and toll fees are included, and child seats for ages 1 to 3 cost THB 200 per seat each way. Give the full address of both hotels when you book. See our OTO Trip Hua Hin review.
For the first leg into the city, the Suvarnabhumi to Bangkok guide and the Don Mueang to Bangkok guide compare private cars, taxis and rail.
The airport coach
From Suvarnabhumi, Roong Reuang Coach sells seats at a desk on Level 1 near Gate 8. Its route page lists 361 THB per seat to Hua Hin Bus Station, via Cha-am, in about 4 hours; the operator’s home page shows “from 381 THB”, so expect one of those two figures. Departures from the airport are at 06:30, 07:30, 08:30, 09:30, 10:30, 12:00, 13:30, 14:30, 16:00, 17:00 and 18:30. Tickets are not refundable, changes cost 30 THB per person with at least 2 days’ notice, and one checked bag up to 20 kg plus one personal bag travel free.
From Don Mueang, the government operator Bor Kor Sor launched a Hua Hin coach in March 2025: 216 km, about 3.5 hours, 200 THB at launch. A June 2026 update lists a single departure from Don Mueang at 15:00, so check the timetable before you rely on it. Both coaches end at a bus station, and you still need a ride to your hotel.
The train
Most Southern Line trains to Hua Hin now leave from Krung Thep Aphiwat Central Terminal at Bang Sue. Travel guides list about nine trains a day, about 3 to 4 hours, with fares from about 94 THB. From Don Mueang, the Dark Red Line reaches Krung Thep Aphiwat in about 15 to 17 minutes. From Suvarnabhumi, take the Airport Rail Link to Makkasan and change to the MRT Blue Line toward Bang Sue. The rail figures come from travel guides, not the official timetable, so check them before you go.
Taxi from the airport
Taxis leave from the Suvarnabhumi taxi queue on Level 1. The airport says the meter applies to trips within about 20 km, so a Hua Hin fare is agreed with the driver under Department of Land Transport rules. Guides estimate 2,000 to 3,000 THB, but there is no official tariff. Agree the full price, including tolls, before you set off. Grab and taxis at both airports are compared in the taxi vs Grab guide.
Hua Hin back to the airport
The OTO Trip car runs from your Hua Hin hotel to a Bangkok hotel only. For a direct ride to your flight, ask the operator you book with whether it sells the return leg. Bor Kor Sor’s June 2026 update lists one coach from Hua Hin to Don Mueang at 09:00. By rail, take the train to Krung Thep Aphiwat and then the Dark Red Line to Don Mueang.
Practical booking checklist
- Pickup location: the airport on Ken Diamond, a Bangkok hotel lobby on OTO Trip.
- Waiting time: not stated on either listing, so confirm it with your booking.
- Tolls: included on OTO Trip; Ken Diamond lists all fees and taxes.
- Luggage: OTO Trip caps bags by vehicle; count yours before you pick.
- Child seats: THB 200 per seat each way on OTO Trip; Ken Diamond seats infants on a lap.
- Cancellation: free cancellation on both listings.
Practical tips
- Check whether your ticket says BKK or DMK. The Don Mueang coach has a single afternoon departure.
- Book a private car for a late landing. The last Suvarnabhumi coach leaves at 18:30.
- Staying in Pranburi? Budget the extra 500 THB on Ken Diamond.
- Heading to Pattaya as well? See Bangkok Airport to Pattaya, and our guide to driving from Pattaya to Hua Hin for the leg between them.
Quick recommendations
- If you land and want to go straight to Hua Hin → book the Ken Diamond car with airport pickup.
- If you spend a night in Bangkok first → book OTO Trip from your hotel at $80.74 for two.
- If you travel solo in daytime from Suvarnabhumi → take the Roong Reuang coach.
- If you need a child seat → book OTO Trip and add the THB 200 seat.
- If you want to compare private cars on every route → see the private transfers comparison.
What we checked
We compared the Hua Hin transfers on GetYourGuide and Viator by rating, review volume and how clearly each states its price basis and pickup point, and checked prices on 12 October 2026 (real-date prices for two adults on GetYourGuide, listed tiers on Viator). Coach, train and taxi figures come from the airport operator, the coach operators and dated travel guides. Inclusions such as waiting time and child seats vary by listing.

Getting from Suvarnabhumi (BKK) or Don Mueang (DMK) to Hua Hin by car, coach, train or taxi.
Book a private car with airport pickup, take the airport coach or go by train from Krung Thep Aphiwat. The Ken Diamond private car on Viator started at THB 2,800 (about $86) per vehicle when we checked on 12 October 2026, and the Roong Reuang coach from Suvarnabhumi lists 361 THB per seat.
There is no official fare. The airport says the meter applies only within about 20 km, so a Hua Hin fare is agreed with the driver. Guides estimate 2,000 to 3,000 THB, so agree the full price, including tolls, before you set off.
From Don Mueang the coach operator gives 216 km, about 3.5 hours. Published road distances from Suvarnabhumi disagree, so we do not quote one; the Suvarnabhumi coach takes about 4 hours and private car listings estimate 3 to 4 hours.
Published figures do not settle it. The Don Mueang coach is listed at about 3.5 hours and the Suvarnabhumi coach at about 4 hours with a stop in Cha-am, so book the transfer from the airport your flight actually uses.
Yes. Roong Reuang Coach runs from a desk on Level 1 near Gate 8 at Suvarnabhumi, with departures from 06:30 to 18:30. From Don Mueang, a June 2026 update lists one Bor Kor Sor coach a day at 15:00. See the Suvarnabhumi guide.
No. It runs between a Bangkok hotel inside the city limit and your Hua Hin hotel, at $80.74 for two travelers when we checked on 12 October 2026. For an airport pickup, book the Ken Diamond transfer.
Grab shows its fare in the app before you confirm, and it changes with demand, so we do not quote one. The taxi vs Grab guide explains where Grab picks up at each airport.
